2016 AMPO Annual Conference

The 2016 AMPO Annual Conference Presentations are now available.

The AMPO Annual Conference, held October 25 – 28,  brought together MPO staff, Policy Board members, federal and state employees, and consultants who shared information on a variety of MPO issues.

The Director of Public Policy and Government Affairs for Toyota Research Institute, Jane Lappin, gave the Keynote address Thursday. Lappin’s experience with public officials, state and local transportation authorities, and the planning community allowed her to lead an engaging discussion with the AMPO membership.

With a dynamic agenda that included 36.50 approved AICP CM credits, the AMPO conference showcased a talented group of presenters.

During the 2016 AMPO Awards, MPOs and individuals were honored for advancing their organizations through the planning process and shaping sustainable regions. Congratulations to this year’s winners:

  • Jim McKenzie, Executive Director of Metroplan, received the Ronald F. Kirby Award for Outstanding Individual Leadership
  • Mid-Ohio RPC for Outstanding Overall Achievement for a TMA MPO
  • Southern Georgia Regional Commission/Valdosta-Lowndes MPO for Outstanding Overall Achievement for a non-TMA MPO
