CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time Exempt with full benefits
STARTING SALARY: $42,500 – $ 62,000(dependent on education and experience)
LOCATION: Charlottesville, VA

The TJPDC is seeking a Transportation Program Manager to administer the organizational transportation planning function for the Charlottesville Albemarle Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Rural Transportation program. This position coordinates transportation projects between agencies, directs the maintenance of extensive reporting and data systems, provides highly responsible and complex support to the Director of Planning & Transportation, and represents the MPO and Rural Transportation to the public and other key stakeholders. Major responsibilities of the Program Manager include the MPO Long Range Transportation Plan, Transportation Improvement Plans, Six Year Improvement Plans, Unified Program Work Plan, Annual Rural Work Program, invoicing for services and contract management. MPO and Rural Transportation committees are direct duties of the Program Manager. The Program Manager is the direct supervisory lead of the Transportation Program Planners.

In addition to a Program Manager, the TJPDC is searching for a range of transportation planners to assist in fulfilling transportation duties in the MPO and Rural Transportation program. Traffic modeling and data analysis skills are highly regarded.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree, or higher, in Planning, Engineering, Public Administration, or related field. Manager preference of Five (5) years’ experience in transportation planning which includes two (2) years of supervisory; Planner preference of a Master’s degree and 2 years’ experience.
